Hilton Hack was a founding member of the Canadian Walking Horse Association (now CRTWH), the second President, and he is still a Board member, having served now for 25 consecutive years. He is shown here on the noted Alberta stallion he bred and raised, Calta Midnite Victry.
JACK GURNETT
It was during Jack Gurnett’s tenure as president that the registry’s name was changed from Canadian Walking Horse Association to the Canadian Registry of the Tennessee Walking Horse. Here Jack is shown cantering his home bred gelding, Northfork Sundancer, at a Festival of the Gaits at Tees, AB.
JO KINGSLAND

RON BANNISTER
Ron Bannister is shown with his gelding, Irish Coffee HBR (aka Toffee) after winning the T.R.A.C. Novice Heavyweight Trophy at Sundre, AB. They were always strong contenders in the Competitive Rides in Alberta.
STU PRITCHARD
Stu Pritchard served as CRTWH president for three terms, and it was during his second term that parentage verification of all stock to be registered was introduced. I think that it was in 1992 and 1993 that I was president of CRTWH.The name of the horse with me in the photo is Sky Commander. He is a 6 year old gelding by Chance’s Gold N Yellow and out of Touch the Sky by My Touch of Pride.
RANDY JOHNSON
Randy Johnson is pictured here showing a colt he bred, raised and sold to the US. At the Western International TWHBEA Regional Futurity in Washington in the fall of 1999, Jus’ Forever Young placed well in his class against stiff competition and professional trainers.
JEAN REMPEL
Jean Rempel served as president for two consecutive terms from 2000 to 2005, during the time that the Registry had to address all the changes that parentage verification brought about. Jean is shown here at The Festival of the Gaits in Tees, AB riding her versatile stallion, Northfork Skywalker.
Marjorie Lacy
Marjorie and Charles Lacy bought their first purebred Tennessee Walkers in 1974, and became members of the Canadian Registry Association when it was formed. Marjorie was first appointed a member of the Board of Directors in 2000 after Helen Williamson died, to serve the remainder of Helen ’s term. Marjorie was president for two terms, 2006 to 2011 and is still a Director for Alberta. Here she is shown with Betty Buckskin (Uphill Sand’N Sable) and her two week old filly, Star, along with palomino Veronica (A&B Treasure’s Gold). All are descendants of the first TWH mares they purchased in 1974.
Frances Kerik
Fran has been breeding, raising and training Tennessee Walking Horses since 1997. She has a keen interest in learning all about The Horse, with continuing education to support her passion. I am a proud supporter of ‘The Canadian’ Triple Challenge and enter all my horses in the CRTWH programs. Serving on the board of the Canadian Registry of the Tennessee Walking Horse has been a huge honor.
Fran is riding CSR Blaise of Glory, a Silver Award recipient in the PFE while ponying CSR Money’s Gold Penny a Gold Award recipient in the PFE.
Sue Gamble
Sue Gamble served seven years (2014- 2021) due to the Covid pandemic and was the first president from Ontario. Sue was instrumental in developing a Director’s Manual, adding an official CRTWH Face Book page, legalizing CRTWH brand identity, modernizing meetings via ZOOM, and introducing Liberty training as part of the CRTWH Programs. Sue is shown here with her liberty horses Koko’s Smokin’ Surprise and Dixie’s Chocolate Fix.
